We Adore you.
Quite honestly, I haven’t screamed about anything band related in quite a long time, but today broke that streak - a dead day at the clinic where I scroll through my feeds (sorry, GM! Love you!) only to discover Turnstile of all bands has covered one of my favorite songs of all time. Like a Version, Triple J, Turnstile, you have both done it again. I did, in fact, have an insane reaction on CCTV and force my coworker off aux so I could hear this in full scope on a good speaker.
The Stone Roses sit and humbly have this all-encompassing discography, and in the near same vein as the Manchester group? Turnstile truly does as well. I’ll try my damndest not to make this a discographical deep dive of Turnstile’s many talents from Nonstop Feeling until Grammy-award winning Never Enough, but baby know the temptation is there.
When the immediate thing you do upon calming down is grab your laptop so you can write, you know the work is immaculate.
With this being said, holy fuck, guys, I’m ten again right now and I’ve just learned how to play my second song on bass, but realistically, I’m still having the need for a break at the clinic. This is absolutely demolishing me in the greatest way possible, and the cover itself serves as this genuine and phenomenal tribute to TSR’s Mani, who passed a few short months ago in November of 2025. A generational loss, really - it’s a bit of the heaviness we all carry with us as we persevere past those we lose.
Turnstile continues to break barriers and secure (well-earned) lifetime achievement awards. If you had asked me about four years ago when I heard Turnstile’s music could earn a Grammy award? The answer was/would’ve been yes, but in true Caity fashion, would it be too much (I don’t care) if I say the direct comparison is Sonny Moore winning for Cinema?
Sit with that for a moment.
